Week of 2/3
Work Updates
Developed Logo and name further and am going with the direction "Caddie". I feel this best suits the purpose and target audience of the service and product. I went in the direction of a cleaner script to allude to the vintage playfulness, while maintaining a clean aesthetic. I feel this direction achieves a playful tone that works in a professional or fun setting.
Rethought through my overall goal and direction for this business, which informed my branding process.
Phase 1: Start with Mobile Mini Golf Rentals (Low Investment) - Build a modular, portable course with high-quality, durable materials. Target events, parties, corporate team-building, schools, and festivals. Charge per event (e.g., $200–$1,500 depending on setup size and duration). Establish branding and social media presence to grow awareness. Use profits to expand the rental fleet and refine the course design.
Phase 2: Introduce Modular Mini Golf Kits (Additional Revenue)
Phase 3: Open a Pop-Up Mini Golf Experience
Phase 4: Launch the Permanent Mini Golf Venue
I also created a user survey to accompany playtesting, however after feedback, I will be going a different direction to gain insight into improvements.

Mentor Updates (2/6)
- For interviews, reach out to individuals such as HR/event planners for businesses or people who run a rental company to see the other side. We also came up with good questions to ask during these interviews that will be beneficial to hear from both decision makers and event runners.
- Look for analogous solutions from other products/services
- For branding, I need to figure out the "rules" for the birdy mascot behind Caddie. What is its use as a mascot, within our icons, and in our overall tone? For compiling all of this information together, he directed me to "branding style guides" a website that has a huge archive of brand guides to take inspiration from.
Critique Notes (2/6)
- Look at large Pelican cases that already exist and potentially build packaging around using these cases to transport them
- Consider client facing vs service facing. Consider things like user-friendly instructions that make the process easier for clients.
- For research, interviewing existing businesses and companies in the rental, entertainment, and mini golf industries may be more insightful that individuals playtesting the product.
- Prioritize looking into manufacturing
- Could lean into how to franchise this business
