Week of 1/27
Work Updates
Developed Logo and name iterations based on my sketches.

2. Sketched out some ideas for leveling the course for uneven surfaces. However, after talking with John about manufacturing, the more complex the design is, the more the price of production will skyrocket. So this design may not be worth pursuing, and playing on uneven surfaces could be a part of the game, especially since a majority of the target environments are on flat surfaces.

Mentor Updates
My meetings with MK Haley and Dr. Dietz will have to be reconfigured as we had a scheduling conflict arise, however I was able to meet with John Boran. Before jumping into branding specifics, we spent the meeting returning to 10,000 foot view to target which consumers and audiences work best for what I want to achieve. Here are some of the ideas that came out of that conversation:
- Consider various economies of scale and how I want this to grow (1 for $100 or 100 for $1)
- Create a single sentence pitch for this experience (i.e. it's like bounce houses for corporate events)
- There are different routes I can take depending on what I want to get out of pitching 1. Sell intellectual property (IP) - mainly in the joinery system 2. Try and scale the product
This in of itself is a problem to consider and think about how I want to solve
- Ideas for the product itself are building existing collections that work together, eliminate confusion and how people interact with customization/laziness, battle mini golf, and even some sort of subscription service.
Overall this conversation helped point me in a direction that allows my end goals and effective ways to make a profit to inform the identity of the product.
Critique Notes (1/30)
- Look into how this would actually be manufactured (where? what materials? how?)
- Look into creating a Kickstarter and what makes them successful or if I should focus on D2C (Direct to consumer).
- When playtesting, utilize the tabletop prototype to show how the product works as well as a putting green so people who haven't putted can experience it.
- Think of marketing strategy: - tone should be playful - social media - look at party rental companies
