Critique Notes (4/3)
Have diligence in checking for spelling mistakes in design stage. Reconsider writing the patent based on what I want to do with this after school ends. Continue to push and follow-through to create a great conclusion to this project.
Mentor Updates (4/3)
Discussed the end results of this project. We talked it through on a very practical level, and I am realizing I am at a stage in my life where I don't have the tenacity for this project any longer to get it off the ground with the type of life that I desire. Because of this, I am reconsidering writing a patent and thinking about how I want this to live on, which may be just as a great portfolio piece and the knowledge I gained through developing an idea thoroughly. I would not say that I am giving up on this project, but that it may look different. I still love the idea and the message, and it may continue as a hobby for awhile (particularly taking modular toys, modifying them, and bringing excellent branding to them) and maybe one day it will grow to where I make a switch to doing this. We talked about what I really have the drive to do and will find enjoyment in, and I am someone who values my family and community over having a star-studded career, and I think trying to pursue wholeheartedly starting a business that I have hesitations towards and will take lots and lots of time. Instead working hard as a designer and loving the people around me in a more balanced lifestyle is the thing I desire, and finding a way to continue bringing joy to people through creativity that will not come at the expense of that.
